Dia de los Reyes & Candelaria
The Rosca de Reyes is a traditional Mexican bread wreath that is eaten to celebrate the Dia de Los Reyes Magos. In many parts of Mexico, the ones who deliver the gifts to children are the 3 Wise Men in Spanish known as Los 3 Reyes Magos.
Dia de los Reyes. The tradition is for the children to live their shoes under their bed and find gifts or candies the next day inside them. The celebration is on January the 6th and in the evening families gather to cut the Rosca and whoever finds a baby Jesus in their piece of Rosca needs to pay for the tamales on the Dia de la Candelaria, February 2.
