Crispy fries on the outside, soft on the inside. Today I show you how to prepare French fries without oil, with the option to make them in the oven or in the air fryer and with instructions to remove the starch. Easy and delicious recipe to prepare French fries ideal for snacks.

How to remove starch from potatoes?
Soak the potatoes before cooking them. The starch in potatoes allows you to create delicious and thick vegetable creams as well as helping to thicken broths. Actually, the problem is that starch is a type of glucose that we rarely associate as such because it doesn’t taste sweet. If you have diabetes, prediabetes, or tend to retain fluids, that’s when you should try to be careful with starchy foods. Soak potatoes before cooking, and rinsing the soaking water removes up to 60% of the starch. Soak for at least 30 minutes, although it is best to soak the potatoes overnight.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds or 1 kilogram of potatoes
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 pinches of pepper
- 1 egg white

How to make French fries in the oven:
- Start by peeling all the potatoes

- Cut the potatoes into strips of the thickness you want.

- Place them in water if you want to remove the starch, let them soak for at least 30 min.

- Beat the egg white and add it to the potatoes.

- Add salt and pepper and mix very well

- Place them on a tray with wax paper (you can add a little spray oil if you wish) Remember to leave a space between each potato.

- Bake at 180ºC (360ºF) for 10 minutes, turn the potatoes over and put them back in for another 10 min.

How to make french fries in air fryer?
If you have an air fryer it will be much easier:
- When you already have the potatoes with the egg, salt and pepper, place them in the air fryer tray at 180ºC or 360ºF for 15 minutes, every 5 minutes open the tray and move them a little so that they are toasted on all sides.
