Many times, we waste the fruits in our home because we simply do not get around to eating them. Would you like to make a dessert that is cost effective and cleans out your pantry and refrigerator at the same time? This recipe uses fruits that you may already have at home and transforms them into a delicious and healthy dessert that your family will absolutely love.
I used just three ingredients in this recipe – pears, grapes and cinnamon. The fruit I used had not been eaten yet and probably would have gone bad if I had left them in the refrigerator any longer. The beautiful thing about this dessert is that you can make it your own. You can make it with apples and blueberries or even summer fruits like peaches, nectarines, and strawberries. A sprinkle of cinnamon deepens the flavor of this easy dessert and makes it spectacular. If you would like extra toppings, you could add a scoop of ice cream, plain or Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt, honey or nuts. The possibilities are endless.
If you are diabetic or have high cholesterol, this recipe is especially for you. The sweetness of the fruit gives you a nice treat that your body can digest more slowly than processed sugars. 1 Large pear
1 cup of grapes
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
- Cut the pear and grapes into bite-size pieces
- Put the fruit in a pot and add the cinnamon and vanilla extract
- Cook the fruit on medium heat until softened.
