I love this recipe because it has a spectacular flavor and is made with very simple and inexpensive ingredients that you can easily find in any super market.

First of all, it is important to make sure that the turkey is completely thawed. If you don’t know how to defrost the turkey, click here to see the instructions. Reach into the cavity and make sure there are no ice chips. Now with his hand in the cavity of the turkey, he looks for a bag where the giblets come, the liver, kidneys, the neck of the turkey. Take it out but do not throw it away with that you can make a delicious consommé for the gravy.

With a paper towel or napkin, remove the moisture from the turkey, there are people who like to rinse the turkey before preparing it, it is your choice. I do not do it because, as with chicken, bacteria can contaminate the sink or kitchen utensils.

Trick to make the turkey juicy and tender

Now I am going to teach you the trick so that this payment is tender and juicy. I have a friend whose mother is from the Czech Republic and she taught me this, Put a whole head of garlic inside the cavity of your turkey, this will help the gases and smells of garlic to perfume your turkey in a delicious way. To keep the humidity an apple also in the cavity. Yes, the whole apple inside the cavity of the turkey, that will help you keep the humidity when cooking.

    Turkey Stuffing

Here I share some delicious recipes to use as a turkey filling. To be honest I never stuff them, firstly they take much longer to cook and secondly the stuffing absorbs the moisture from the turkey and goodbye juicy and tender turkey! I prepare the stuffing and when it’s time to serve stuffed the turkey. If you want the filling to take on the flavor of the turkey, you can bathe it with a little of the juice that the turkey releases when it cooks.

How to bake turkey and at what temperature

There are different ways that you can bake the turkey. My favorite is to use a bag to bake turkeys that you can find in the supermarket is very easy and it is in half the time, it is also super juicy.

    • If you have a kettle this helps you a lot, the kettles have a grill that separates the turkey from the juices which allows the turkey to taste delicious, saves you time and waste! Place the turkey inside the kettle, close and put in the oven at 350 degrees F or 180 degrees. Cooking time depends on the weight of your turkey. See weight and cooking table here.
    • Covered in aluminum. Place the turkey on a baking sheet and cover with aluminum foil, forming a type of tent with the aluminum.
    • See weight and cooking table here.
    • Detailed steps of any of these cooking techniques click here the temperature of your oven will depend on what cooking technique you use and the time of how much your turkey weighs. Having a thermometer to measure the temperature of the turkey to know if it is ready is a good option but if you do not have one here I will share the exact times and temperatures with the method you prefer to cook the turkey. HOMEMADE GRAVY RECIPE FOR BAKED TURKEY

This gravy is made with bacon and seasoned with garlic and onion, I use the same juice that turkey releases and the truth is that it is super delicious.

    INGREDIENTS

    • 3 slices of bacon cut into very thin slices
    • 3 tablespoons chopped onion
    • 3 tablespoons of flour
    • 1 cup of mushrooms
    • 4 cups turkey juice or chicken broth
    gravy

HOW TO MAKE A HOME GRAVY STEP BY STEP

    • It is very important that the turkey consommé is already cold. Mix with the flour until it dissolves completely.
    • In a pot, place the bacon to cook and when it releases fat, add the onion and 1 cup of mushrooms cut into thin slices, fry them.
    • Once the bacon is well cooked, add the consommé with the flour already dissolved.
    • Mix constantly and let it boil, little by little it will thicken.
    • If you want it to be thicker you can add more flour but in cold turkey soup, if you add it directly to the hot it will turn the flour into lumps.
