Mexican Tuna Tacos Dorados, only need these ingredients. A can of tuna, tortillas, cilantro, onion, and mustard. Do you have this at home? most likely your answer is… yes! and it is all you need to prepare the most delicious and easy Authentic Mexican Tuna Tacos Dorados, Crispy tuna Tacos, seasoned with mustard. This recipe is easy to make and, you can cook them by steaming, frying, or on the top of a griddle. or even in the air fryer if you are looking for a healthy version of Mexican tuna tacos dorados without frying but with all the flavor of some good tacos fritos.

Tuna tacos dorados are a frequent dinner recipe at my house, especially during Lent or as we call it, Cuaresma. If Lenten recipes are what you are looking for, this will definitely become one of your favorites. Tuna tacos are a very inexpensive and nutritious meal for Authentic Mexcian Cuaresma recipes or recetas! I prefer to buy the tuna in water to save the fat from the oil. Canned tuna is a good source of protein and the perfect solution when you have to prepare lunch or dinner quickly.

INGREDIENTS TO PREPARE TACOS DORADOS DE ATÚN IN ENGLISH

The amounts that I give you are thinking of a meal for 4 people

    • 2 cans of tuna
    • 6 tablespoons diced onion
    • 2 tablespoons coriander chopped
    • 4 tablespoons mustard
    • 8 corn tortillas
    • Vegetable oil

HOW TO MAKE CANNED TUNA CRISPY TACOS

This is very simple, here I tell you how to make tuna tacos step by step

    1. Mix the mustard, onion, cilantro, and tuna
    2. Heat the tortillas on a comal (griddle) to soften them
    3. Fill the tortillas with the tuna mixture.
    4. Here I share several techniques to prepare them. If you want low-fat and healthier, opt for the comal or air fryer. If you want the traditional recipe I also tell you how to fry them in oil.

Next, I will give you options on how to cook them. I prefer to make them on the comal or the air fryer if I want them crunchy so as not to fry them but another way of not using fat is by steaming them like this recipe for Mexican Tuna Tacos. The traditional recipe is fried.

    TACOS DORADOS IN AIRFRYER

The air fryer has been a good investment, I use it a lot, the truth is that I feel that it is like having a small oven and it helps me a lot so that I do not have to turn on the entire oven and achieve the feeling of fried food without having to use a large amount of fat. I always try to cook the healthiest for me and my family so fried foods are not frequent in our home.

    1. Heat the tortillas on the griddle
    2. Spray a little vegetable oil spray on the tortillas or if you don’t have it, place a little oil on a plate and lightly coat the tortillas with the oil.
    3. Fill the tortillas and fold to form the taco shape
    4. Place in the air fryer making sure to leave space between each block. The secret of cooking in an air fryer is that hot air can circulate between the food to achieve the effect that it is fried.
    5. Cook at 360f or 180c for 6 minutes on each side, check if they need more and, turn them on their side. Mine were ready in less than 15 minutes but this may vary depending on the brand of your air fryer.
    6. Serve with a rich cabbage salad and a good sauce. Here is my delicious cabbage salad that goes perfectly with this recipe.

GOLDEN TUNA TACOS IN THE GRIDDLE WITHOUT FRYING

This option is special if you don’t have an air fryer. For years I made them on the griddle and they are delicious, the difference is that they take a bit longer to cook than making them in the air fryer but you can achieve a very similar effect and you will see that soon you will be enjoying some delicious crispy golden tuna tacos Caray! What a craving, I can’t wait to bury my teeth in some of these tacos and listen to the crunch!

    1. Heat the tortillas on the comal
    2. Spray a little vegetable oil spray on the tortillas or if you do not have it, place a little oil on a plate and lightly coat the tortillas with the oil.
    3. Fill the tortillas and fold to form the taco shape
    4. Place on a hot griddle and keep the heat to medium-low.
    5. As they are toasted, flip them..
    6. It will take around 5 to 6 minutes to toast each side, you have to keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.

HOW TO MAKE CRISPY TUNA TACOS FRIED IN OIL

If what you want is some crispy tuna tacos bathed in oil, the procedure is very simple. This is the traditional Mexican recipe for making Tacos Dorados.

To prepare this recipe you will need some tongs that you can put in the boiling oil and have an extended plate with a couple of table napkins on it to place the tacos there once they come out of the oil and let them absorb a little of the excess fat.

    1. Start by heating the tortillas a little so that you can fold them without breaking.
    2. Fill the tortillas with the tuna mixture we made.
    3. Close the tortilla to shape it into a taco.
    4. In a frying pan, place a layer of oil of about one centimeter and put it to heat.
    5. Once the oil is boiling, put it on low heat to prevent it from burning.
    6. Carefully put the tacos in the oil and watch what they fry.
    7. With a spoon, bathe the taco on the top with the oil.
    8. The tacos will be ready when you see that the tortilla has changed color.
