Turkey is such a healthy option that is often overlooked. It is not just for the holidays; it is lean, tasty and versatile – you can season it and prepare it in so many ways. This recipe takes turkey from boring to amazing in no time. It will be juicy and delicious when it is finished, but with a little kick of spice.

One thing I love about this Mexican recipe is that the ingredients are very inexpensive and you can easily find them at your local grocery store. There is nothing fancy to buy, but the result is fancy and exotic turkey with a bold and complex flavor. It develops a beautiful color and the taste is amazing. I made it with orange juice but you can make it with orange soda. Yes, orange soda! Orange soda brings gives this recipe more of a sweet flavor than orange juice.

The best part of this recipe is the guajillo adobo. Guajillo is a mildly spicy chili pepper that is native to Mexico. It is used in many Mexican dishes and sauces and adds just the right amount of spice to this dish. An adobo is a blend of herbs and spices used as a type of seasoning rub or marinade for meats. This recipe uses tangy orange juice, flavorful garlic, aromatic cumin and vibrant, red achiote. With all these wonderful ingredients combined, this marinade is what gives this turkey its wonderful flavor and color.

What is not to love about this recipe? It is full of flavor and low in fat. It has authentic tastes and it won’t break the bank. You could pop it in the oven while you prepare your side dishes and soon, your entire dinner will be ready to enjoy. Try this recipe is so simple and delicious, you can make it for a special occasion or for dinner tonight. Try it out for yourself and let me know how it turned out. Enjoy!
