Tuna salad without mayo is always a great option for a healthy meal. I have always loved the fresh flavor of tuna salad. The truth is that what I absolutely love about a healthy tuna salad recipe is how fast you can make it!

Really, dinner or lunch ready in 10 minutes? I am all about it!

    tuna salad without mayo

This tuna salad without mayo uses greek yogurt to substitute mayo. The greek yogurt as a substitute for mayo gives the tuna salad a creamy, moist texture and flavor adding more protein and less fat to your meal.

The secret over here is how to add extra flavor, and that is easy for this Mexican mom! Have you ever tasted pickled jalapenos? We call them rajas o chiles en escabeche or vinagre. Pickled jalapenos are next to almost every meal in Mexico and the juice is absolutely delicious and perfect to complement this tuna salad with no mayo.

How to Make Tuna Salad Greek Yogurt

    • Start by draining the water from the tuna can.
    • Chopp 1/2 cup red onion, 1 cup tomato, and 4 slices of pickled jalapeno (This is optional, if you are not in to spicy do not add it)
    • In the blended add 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 4 tablespoons of greek yogurt, and 1/4 cup of pickled jalapenos juice (the juice will bring flavor and won’t make it spicy but if you do not have you can let it out), 3 pinches pepper and the tuna. Blend all together until you form a dough with the tuna. Do not ask e why but blending the tuna really takes this recipe to a next level.
    • Mix the tuna with the veggies.
    • You can add some chopped avocado or make tuna stuffed avocados as in the photo. We usually have this no mayo tuna salad recipe with crackers or even tostadas!

Healthy Tuna Salad that tastes great tips!

Here are some tips on what you can use to make a healthy tuna salad without mayo that undoubtedly tastes good.

    • Start buying tuna in water instead of oil. We always look to eat healthy fats at home. So I prefer to use some avocado instead of some extra fat from the cannned-in-oil tuna.
    • I buy the Fage Greek yogurt at Costco I usually use it as sour cream or mayo for my recipes.
    • The chiles en Vinagre or pickled jalapenos come in many different brands and you can usually find them with no trouble in the Internation Foods Isle in your fave supermarket.
